Privacy Policy

What we collect

To run the chat and to keep abuse down, we store:

• Gender and age range — you give these yourself; they are used for matching, and your partner sees your gender and age bracket
• Account details (email and a hashed password) — only if you choose to register
• A random identifier in a cookie, which is how we count your daily conversations
• Your IP address — for daily limits and for blocking abuse. It is never shown to the person you are talking to
• The messages in a conversation, until they are deleted (see "How long we keep things")
• Which page you arrived on and where you came from, in a coarse form: country, device type, browser, and the advertising parameters in the link

Cookies and local storage

There are four cookies, and none of them is sold or shared:

• guest_id — a random identifier that counts your conversations for the day. It lasts a year
• sh_visit — ties this page view to where you came from, so we know which adverts work
• sh_consent — remembers whether you accepted analytics, so we don't ask again
• viby_profile — remembers the gender and age you picked, so you do not retype them. The name is a leftover from the old brand; renaming it would wipe what visitors already have
• Local storage keeps your language, your gender and age, and your search preferences on your own device

Other companies involved

Five, and only for what they say:

• Cloudflare — protects the site and passes your country to us as a two-letter code
• Yandex.Metrica — site statistics. In the EU, the UK, Switzerland, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway it loads only if you accept it. Session recording is switched off, so it cannot see your messages
• Google — only if you choose to sign in with a Google account
• BongaCams and Stripchat — live previews in the 18+ room only, on the waiting screen and after a conversation; which of the two you see depends on your language. Only BongaCams gets your IP address, to know which rooms are available where you are; nothing else about you is sent to either
• Telegram — only if you connected the bot yourself. It writes when a partner you saved is back on the site, at most once a day; “/stop” turns it off for good. No chat text ever goes to Telegram

How long we keep things

Everything has an end date, and it is enforced by a nightly job:

• Conversations and their messages — erased within 24 hours of the chat ending. A reported chat is kept until the report is dealt with, and never longer than 30 days
• Funnel events (pressed start, found a partner, sent a first message) — 90 days
• Where visitors came from — 180 days
• The text of a block appeal — 30 days
• Guest identifiers expire on their own; a registered account can be deleted at any time

Your rights

You can:

• Ask what we hold about you, and get it
• Ask us to delete your account and everything attached to it
• Use the site as a guest and never register at all
• Refuse analytics — the site works exactly the same either way
